From west of
Glasgow city centre 8 miles(13 KM) away Glasgow International
Airport (Scottish Gaelic: Port-adhair Eadar-nŕiseanail Glaschu) (IATA:
GLA, ICAO: EGPF) (formerly Glasgow Abbotsinch Airport)located ,
near the towns of Paisley and Renfrew in Renfrewshire,
Scotland.There are 3 piers like West (International), Central
(Domestic) and East (Lo-Cost & Ireland/Northern Ireland) for
terminal.For domestic destinations Central Pier is used.And for
international flights the East Pier was originally used but in
current years has been redeveloped for use by easyJet and Loganair
as well as some charters. All flights to Ireland and Northern
Ireland also use this pier. In this pier no one stands provided
the air bridges.The principal international and long haul
departure point is the West Pier. Because of the neighboring M8
motorway the airport is easily accessed by road as well as a
common enthusiastic express bus from the city centre.But this
cause the congestion in the centre of Glasgow.For the Scottish
regional airline Loganair the airport is like a home. At the
airport a maintenance hangar operates by British Airways. |
